Desperately in need of ideas for DD 8

Finally agreed with EXH the Christmas schedule with the kids and it got DD(8) and DS(3) asking if Santa would still come if they're at Daddy's house and not at home. All good, reassured them that in special cases he can deliver twice as I'm hyper aware it's probably one of the last years of DD believing.

Which leads me onto planning their gifts. DS is easy; if it's Spiderman, paw patrol or anything vehicle based he's happy as Larry. But DD doesn't particularly want or need anything. She's still got her Barbie dreamhouse and all the associated kit but seems to not be playing with toys as much, preferring to do crafts, write stories and practice her gymnastics.

So... what are you getting your 7/8/9 yr old girls this year? Please help give me some inspiration!

I have a 9 & 11yo DDs in the last few years hits have been roller blades & boots, my 9yo prefers boots to blades. Heeleys are on my 9yos list this year. Other hits have been sewing machine, hover boards with go kart attachment, Switch and VR headset.

i bought a gymnastics mat and beam at the beginning of the first lockdown as both had birthdays and I was limited in what I could get delivered, they were massive hits. The mat is still going strong, it’s really easy to hide away it folds in 2 and slots under or behind the sofa, basically it took the place of the old baby’s changing mat. The beam wasn’t as good but I think that was more not knowing what to buy. Again it was easy to fold away, both girls at 6 & 8 could put them both away themselves. This issue with the beam was the hinge would make it wobble so it was no good on a flat surface but was ok on the grass.

Last year my then 8yo got her own drawing table and an abundance of art supplies, drawing & painting, she loved it, especially as it’s just hers. I got her a trolley to keep all her art stuff in.

Squishy mellows are on the list this year from all of my girls.

Best gift my 8 yr old DD got was a plug in waffle maker from Tesco. She still makes weekend waffles for us and her sibings. I am amazed at how it started her being accurate with recipes, she baked a cake single handedly last weekend.

She also loves her microscope

Im also looking at gymnastic bars and fold out beam for her little sister who will be 8 this year at Christmas.

Im also thinking about bubble tea kit and smores kit as stocking fillers.

I have an 8 year old DD so loving this thread. This year it'll mostly be Harry Potter stuff, she's grown out of Barbie and dolls etc which I'm finding so sad. Pretty sure I was still playing with dolls at 11/12

My daughter will turn 8 in November along with her twin brother, she has shown a real flare for art so a lot of ideas I have for her include creative sets and art materials. Along with that I will also get her Squishmallows and Aphmau meemeow plushes, this year I am not buying any dolls as she has so many!

My DD will be 8 near Christmas. I have got her tickets to go see Cursed child - plan to make a bit of a performance of the tickets, write them like the HP letter, attach to helium Hedwig pop in a box! She's also getting the new minalima HP book (PoA) - if you have a HP fan can't recommend highly enough, they are the most beautiful, special books.

Stocking list so far
Juggling balls
Drawing book
Watercolour pencils
Painting with stickers book
HP Socks Knickers
Percy Jackson necklace
Joke Book
Exploding kittens expansion kit
Bathbomb diy kit (I'm going to make my own for her)

My brother is getting her a dive at Blue Planet with sharks as joint birthday/Christmas present.
She got Eco-kids magazine subscription last year and loved it and wants that again as present from her Granny. Highly recommend btw, beautiful fun magazine for this age range.

I'm looking at some similar games to exploding kittens like taco cat and game of things for her birthday also fimo and mosaic making kit.

DD Loves her Phoenix subscription. I think you can get 6 issues for a pound.

Ive got DD so far:
a bookeez
tamagotchi (thanks PP!)
notebook
Matt Haig the girl who saved christmas book
Beabie Boo toy
Xmas Pjs

no idea what she is going to want as her main present. She has to do her list over Oct half term and she really does not need anything. Overdid Lego on her birthday so cant do that. Hoping for a low cost christmas.
