I’m after new stockings for our family, since we need to get one for DD anyway. I don’t want them personalised, and would prefer a stocking shape but can also be swayed by sacks.

I don’t know quite what style I want, but probably fairly traditional. I know lots of the Christmas departments aren’t open yet, but they will be soon. Budget is up to £50 each for something that’s perfect, but would be much happier spending less. Please share links/pictures whatever. Inspire me!

(and yes, in advance of the snarky comments because there’s always one, I know it’s only August. I’m on the Christmas board!)

Another vote for matalan, usually mid to end September

Oh great spot!! Thanks. I love that light up bauble.

Found some current faves on Next, so will put a shortlist together for DH to veto.

DH has proclaimed my nice cream knitted ones as “too boring”, so will wait for a wider selection in the shops 😂.

TK Maxx always sell a good selection of different stockings. I bought DS a pure felted wool one, edged in thick red stitching, with a bear dressed as a Buckingham guard embroidered on it.. quite traditional looking. It cost about £15, iirc.

I also love Eleanor Bowmer's prints, and she usually does spacious stockings.

We bought some from www.chunkichilli.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7ebY7YH9gAMVTcLtCh3FpgnYEAAYASAAEgIFVPD_BwE years ago. They're gorgeous and have held up really well over the years. I really recommend them.
