Import fees

Hi does anyone have any advise on import fees? My son (has ASD) is obsessed with odd 1s out and has listed most of his merch for his birthday but they seem to be only available from America. Is the fees huge? Thanks

It ends up being pretty substantial as you end up with an admin fee per parcel, the VAT and then the duty (if applicable)

Can you post a link to the site selling them and I'll see if I can work it out

It's going to be

VAT @ 20% on the total value of the order.

So for $100 of goods with $30 of shipping the VAT is $26 or ~£20

If they put it through as board games/books/collectibles the duty will be 0% otherwise for toys it will be 5% (again on total value including shipping)

The handling fee through Royal Mail is £8

Thank you so much for taking time to work that out. Im going to take a look and see if someone on etsy can make something for him. With shipping and fees its not worth it

I had a quick look on eBay.

If you set it to the item has to be in the UK then there's still a fair bit of new stuff available and you don't have to worry about customs etc.

Have you tried aliexpress. It’s where I go for hard to find things for my DCs.
