Anyone else waiting or not feeling it this year?

Usually, like my fellow Christmas enthusiasts, I’m well on my way to stocking up for next Christmas, this year though, I’m just not feeling it. I bought a couple of decs in the January sales, but that’s it and compared to other years it was literally nothing. Last year I was forced to hold out due to a big house move but I was still picking up lots of little bits I could “justify” somehow in buying. This year no reason like that, but I’m just not getting into it.

I did notice that there weren’t as many sale items this year, that definitely put me off. Even recently I was walking round and saw ex Christmas stock, but not being reduced, again I thought what’s the point of buying and storing if not getting it reduced.

Any one else feeling like this?

My DCs are getting older so not as easy to “predict” their wants, but they still have certain hobbies and interests that don’t change that I can usually buy for. I’m really hoping this passes as I pride myself on being super organised for Christmas. I’m giving myself till the Amazon Prime sales in July 🤞 it gives me my Christmas boost.

Before anyone starts moaning, I’m posting this on the Christmas board, so don’t comment if your only going to moan about how far away Christmas is,

Xmas Grin when I'm looking on RightMove or watching tv with my DD the thoughts always turn to "a Christmas tree would fit right there "

I have a couple of prime positions in my house for a tree , but since our cats arrived in 2019 and made it their mission to destroy the aforementioned tree , we've given up after short lived tree attempts in 2019 and 2020 .
(Fake tree , no baubles just static white lights - they are little gits ) Xmas Grin

I managed to buy some half price cards the week after Christmas but all of the other festive goodies(baubles, tinsel, wrapping paper,Lights)were sold out.

Most disappointing but I've coped by treating myself to something Christmassy every month.

I feel the same. I am usually much further ahead than this. I have 3 stocking fillers for DS1 and that's it. I usually am glued to the christmas board but have barely visited this year.

I did watch Muppet Christmas Carol last night which cheered me up a bit. Hoping I get into it soon, I have so many to buy for..

I would normally have had some random thoughts about Christmas by now, but as yet, I haven’t. My list of people to buy for, and even send cards to has reduced dramatically. I am not even convinced that I will need to put much effort into Christmas this year at all; gifts for half a dozen people and turn up to be hosted on Christmas Day.

I just started Xmas shopping, bought most of the 'santa presents' (cheep and cheerful classic toys like yo-yo, kaleidoscope and harmonica) and a couple of stocking fillers.

I have nowhere to store big presents currently, I need a big declutter so going to do some car booting to clear space.
