Just wanted to say thank you if you contributed to a food bank, toy drive or charity collection for Christmas. We were very grateful for what we received.

We got a box of staples and some mince pies and chocolates. My teen was given a gift voucher and selection box and my youngest a craft kit, nail varnish set and a book. They were very happy. I was given some slipper socks which I love and a gorgeous candle.

So thank you so much, you made our Christmas a very happy one ☺️

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family! 🎄

I volunteer for a charity which provides food all year round, plus Christmas and birthday gifts and cakes and it’s good to hear that you received a lovely selection of gifts and food.

Hopeyoursproutsarealreadyon · 29/12/2022 09:07

Our town has a giving tree. I picked a tag off for every family member here. 10 of us! My working dc paid for 1 each and I got the rest. Was nice to buy a requested item - I hope the gifts were well received.. Next year may up it to 2 each. Every person adult or child should get a gift they chose -
Merry Christmas op..

Glad you enjoyed your Christmas op. For a moment there I thought you actually received a box of staplers! 😀

Happy Christmas 🎄 OP to you and your dc.
I live in France and our foodbank was collecting too. There is a list of suggestions, it was a pleasure to contribute.

Me too
I am quite relieved 😁

I have cancer and was expecting a really tight Christmas as I've been off work for a while with it now. I got a knock at the door just before Christmas and there was a big hamper with food, drink and chocolates for my children. I won't lie it made me cry all day. People donating do make a massive difference, especially when it's so unexpected as it shows people do care at a time when it can feel so isolating. Thank you to anyone who donated anything this year you make people's lives feel a bit easier when it's needed. x

That is so lovely. I have been struggling lots of horrible stuff. This year I have met the most amazing friends. They helped me sort my house out. The. At Xmas someone who didn't want me to know they did it gave me £200 cash for heating i am beyond shocked and greatful. I just can't believe how kind people can be

Deathraystare · 31/12/2022 08:30

@UndertheCedartree

Lovely to hear that you benefitted from food banks et al over Christmas.

Although I do donate to food banks I do not know much about Collecting other stuff for people for Christmas. My friends in Hampshire are always talking about gift boxes and so on but apart from giving to food banks and Crisis I am not sure what there is in my part of London so will make an effort to find out for next year!

It is heart warming that even though many of us are struggling ourselves we still think of others as really it is not much to contribute and everything helps!

Glad you had a good Christmas!

Its lovely to hear . I give to food banks usually .At Christmas They were asking directly at SB ,and I gave them several items which were well received. The COL in this country is off the scale now

Yes, it is true. Almost everyone is struggling financially at the moment, but so many still donated at Christmas 🎄
