We did presents one at a time and it was nice

We do stockings early, and then tree presents from family once everyone is up and dressed, lunch is ready, everything is a bit tidy. Usually we divide into piles and then all open at once. I end up sitting there watching everyone else and forgetting to open anything! This year we went round in a circle and opened one at a time so everyone could watch and enjoy it being opened. It was fab! Only dh and me and the kids, so no extended family to impress. Everyone liked it and we're adopting it going forward.

We always have done it like that, even when the DC were small. We also slow it even more by having to unwrap the paper really carefully without tearing it, which is part of the fun. Paper gets re-used for years. We also pause throughout the day and do something else, so presents last for a while, most of the day.

We've always done one at a time since the dc were tiny. It's the loveliest way to do it imo, so you get to see and appreciate everything. But we've never done ridiculously enormous 'piles' of stuff.

@TinfoilTwat I was being a bit flippant (perhaps too flippant in retrospect) didn't mean to offend.
