Christmas Bonus

I’ve worked for our company for 8 years & I’ve always given 110% to my work, often working over hours & not putting it down as overtime. During Covid we were open but I was asked to give up 25% of my holidays to help the company out. I was happy to do this as they’ve always looked after me.
This past 18mths have been challenging due to staff leaving & I have stepped up in my role, performing work I’m not qualified to do and to train and support a new, smaller workforce. There are now only 2 of us and one part time member, whereby previously there were 5. 2 senior members of staff with very high pay grades also left and were replaced with 1 person on a lower wage. All of the staff changes has impacted the amount of work I now perform. Despite all of the changes we are taking more money and obviously staff wages are now lower. My wages have remained the same for 4 years & the staff I’ve trained are now on the same hourly rate as me, as is our cleaner.
Historically we’ve always received between £200-£400 as a bonus in our Christmas wages. I’ve just looked and this year I haven’t received any bonus at all. I’m not sure how I feel other than very deflated & I know I shouldn’t take it for granted but that money has always helped towards the cost of Christmas. Should I say something or stay mute? How would you feel?

Same here, we’ve had a fantastic year this year (best in 5 years) as bragged about by the CEO at the end of year briefing. Every year we’ve had a card signed by senior managers with a gift card (£100 last year).
This year, nothing.

It’s not a nice feeling is it. I’m sorry your bosses have done this to you too. I hope you still have a great Christmas. Xx
