Asda debiting funds

Hi,

Sorry, bit of a boring subject. Does anyone know how long Asda are taking to collect the money from your bank account for shopping deliveries?

Our delivery was Tuesday and the actual price of the shop was £40 than originally expected due to unavailable items. There’s also £16 for an item handed back.

That means there’s £50 pending in their original debit that I don’t actually owe them- and it would be rather handy to have it freed up!

Normally the transaction goes through as confirmed the same day - I’d have thought it was automated so not sure why it would take longer?

The delivery was a fiasco (long story) but in the end the lovely local Asda store manager dropped off our food delivery on his way home!! So I’m wondering if that has impacted the processing? I’d have thought not as it shows as delivered.

I noticed this with a delivery last week- about £55 worth of unavailable items. The delivery was Thu 15th and the refund hit my bank yesterday, 21st.

bit Different but I had a delivery with them not show up and took a week to get a refund!

Aah that’s interesting @TrentCrimm! They haven’t debited the money properly yet IYSWIM. The whole sum is still showing as a pending transaction but it should be £50 less than it is. Normally it goes through as a corrected confirmed transaction the same day.

I have a small refund on top being processed separately (they delivered something with a use by date of the same day when guidelines said it would be 7 days+). The email said I’d get a refund of that within 3-5 days so I’m not expecting that til next week.

Its just the weird pending status of my delivery that’s puzzling me!

Yeah, Asda do this. All the time. It will be at least a week: this is why I refuse to use them!

My delivery was last night and i had the refund this morning for the unavailable item and the one i gave back to the driver because it was squashed.

Oh really @PollyEsther? Does it take a week to re credit your account for the difference or a week to put the whole transaction through?

Everything is just pending at the moment and I’ve never, ever had that before - I’ve used Asda countless times before for deliveries. They’re a bloody nuisance with their endless and shit substitutions but they’re the only supermarket round here where you can get a delivery slot fairly easily so needs must 😂

Also I’ve got a 13 yr old disabled DS who is still in nappies and Asda sell them the cheapest. I spend a bloody fortune on nappies so I’m prepared to put up with shit substitutions to get the nappies he likes at a cheaper price 🤷‍♀️🙂

The refund usually appears the same day the payment changes from pending.
