Packing decorations

So, big job done this morning, we're intending to move this year so dd brought down everything she could find in the loft that looked like Christmas decorations.

I've been through it and got rid of anything I definitely won't use in future and I've condensed what I'm keeping (but haven't put up this year) into fewer boxes, so it looks much better. Some is just the boxes for things that are up now like the tree.

My question is, does anyone have any good tips for packing decorations? I was thinking I'd get some plastic storage boxes with lids because it's all going into a storage unit after Christmas and then hopefully we'll have a garage it can go into at the new place. It used to be very organised but has got into a mess in recent years.

How's do you organise your decorations? Any useful storage containers I could get?

The only tip I have is to wrap fairy lights around a plastic bottle to stop them getting tangled. Also keep the original boxes to put decs back into where possible. If not then cardboard parcel boxes come in a range of sizes and can be stacked into plastic tubs for ease of storage
