OK due to various family circumstances, ds and I will be having Christmas Brunch sometime between 10 and 12, followed by a cheese and chocs course around 3-4.30pm. No roast!!

I'm pretty excited about it and would love to hear your ideas for a dream brunch.

English muffin, poached egg, wilted spinach, some sort of sauce and a baked giant mushroom would make me rather happy.

I think a full breakfast (English, Scottish, Irish whatever) is very decadent. With champagne and optional smoked salmon.

Brunch plus cheese sounds a perfect food day! We did this during lockdown when DD1 was only 1.5. I couldn’t be bothered to do a roast. So we had smoked salmon, eggs, avocado, toast with Prosecco at about 11. Then when DD went to sleep, a continental meat, cheese platter with pickles and olives etc. it was lovely, no hassle.

Buck's fizz with freshly squeezed OJ
Lightly toasted bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese and/or scrambled eggs
Tossed salad
Fresh coffee with hot frothed milk
fresh berries - raspberries, blueberries and srawberries

Growing up was always a full fry up 😋

Now our Christmas brunch every year is pancakes (American style), bacon, sausage, berries, banana, maple syrup, caramel sauce, Nutella and anything else anyone asks to be added to it.

My 2nd choice would be smoked salmon, porches eggs with either bagels or English muffins. But that’s just a dream to child with allergies who can’t be near fish.
