Usually I’m super organised and on top of everything, basically nothing to do in December but sit back and try and make the most of all the festive activities available. However, this year for a variety of reasons, current one being full of a cold, has meant I’m waaayyy behind. Gifts all bought but it’s decorations and wrapping that have knocked me off track this year. But this afternoon I put Gavin & Stacey’s Christmas special on, followed my some Mrs Browns Boys Christmas specials and wrapped all Santa presents yayyyy! Still got gifts from DH and I to do, put right now I feel like buying a bunch of gift bags and just putting everything in bags.

Now I just need the ground to defrost for me to get the outside decorations pegged into the ground.

How’s everyone else doing?

I've just wrapped 16 presents and still have loads more to do 🙈 I've run out of the wrapping paper I'm using for DP so I need to get more of that if I can find it before I can wrap the rest of his...

GrimsbyOrangePippin · 16/12/2022 22:30

Well done.

right now I feel like buying a bunch of gift bags

This afternoon I decided to do same, got Amazon open to see what can be delivered quickly.I suddenly got overwhelmed even though I'm not doing that much overall. It stopped being fun. And I've got a lot of non-Christmas stuff on next week. No shame in taking the simple route out.

Davros · 16/12/2022 22:34

I have only bought one present (for me) so far. I came on here to look for ideas for 19 year old DD. I haven't sent cards this year, I always do, but I've had to let it go. I haven't put up any decorations yet but plan to this weekend. I haven't ordered any food, treats etc. I'm usually fairly on top of things. Im sure it will be ok 🤞

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 16/12/2022 23:00

@GrimsbyOrangePippin I was thinking of just sending DH to homebargins tomorrow. I’ve got a roll of Kevin the Carrot paper for his gifts, I’m also half tempted to just tell him to wrap his own given I’ve had to buy my own 😂

@Davros Firstly love the name, watched a few Christmas Dr Who episodes today too 😀

Ive written one card and only because my friend who is very big into cards visited this week. I really don’t want to not send my aunts and uncles cards but at this rate they definitely won’t be getting them before Christmas.

The Runaway Bride? We watched it last week, we need to watch some more.
We moved right at the end of September and have just been away for a week so I'm letting the cards go this year. The rest will get done. I'd rather relax and have fun and miss some of my "jobs" than fret about it Xmas Grin

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 16/12/2022 23:16

I thought I was doing well as had wrapped most stuff but then had four Xmas nights out and now laid up with the lurgy Confused

thaegumathteth · 16/12/2022 23:22

I think I've wrapped most stuff but am waiting on 3 things to arrive which I ordered weeks ago and I fear are lost.

Dh and ds both have birthdays next week so I need to make their cakes and actually just realised I haven't got a birthday card for dh.

CoolShoeshine · 16/12/2022 23:23

Did you not learn anything from Gavin and Stacey???
Scrunch the remaining presents up in tinfoil

Feel your pain, mines due to too many school events in the last 2 weeks.

Oh no 🙈
I’m usually so prepared. I bought my boys a set of Xmas PJs and a Christmas book (taken from their shelf) and wrapped them up and gave them in 22nd Nov at the local lights switch on, and that’s when prep ended.

Covid for first time via DS1 on 1st Dec I have done 0 shopping, have no wrapping paper and didn’t do any cards at all 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️🫠
Still ill-ish 2 weeks on and will be shopping via Prime (which I absolutely hate to do) tomorrow and getting everything on 1 order. Lmao.
At least the tree is up.

Davros · 17/12/2022 16:39

I haven't got a clue what to get for 19 year old DD. 🤷‍♀️

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 17/12/2022 17:35

What dose she like @Davros?

I’ve heavily relied on prime this year, it’s the only delivery service I can be certain about.

She likes music, classical as well as the usual teen shite. She plays the piano for her own enjoyment. She likes cooking, anime, Japanese things in general, films, musical shows, animals, driving and cars, making and drinking cocktails, Doctor Who

I’ve had this in the bottom of my shopping basket for a while.

I got a really nice Dr Who paint by numbers a couple of years ago.

Concert tickets? Comic con tickets?

OP posts:
Davros · 17/12/2022 20:36

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS that's great, thanks. Tickets for something are also a good idea and easy to buy. I need to do some research. Harry Potter Studio is a definite, we have been twice but a long time ago

Davros · 17/12/2022 20:37

And the paint by numbers, she'd love that. She likes things to do with her hands
