Christmas starter ideas???

It's all in the title, no clue what to make for starters so any ideas will be appreciated! Thanks!

Go for cold which can be made in advance or just plated up saves a lot of stress.
Generally do smoked salmon and King prawns with salad leaves and a wedge of lemon or a prawn cocktail. One year I did a capaccio but it was a faff to cut!

Melon with a slice of prosciutto draped on/around it (google presentation ideas) - light, easy, cold and not heavy. Goes well with fizz for a toast too.

I don't do starters for just us but when we have guests we do pate and Melba toast or prawn cocktail (luckily our guests are old and appreciate the nostalgia/ unfashionable food)

Prawn cocktail, melon and soup for starters in my house growing up.
Now we don't have a starter but my parents still have this.

1. Dried apricots each with a teaspoon of blue cheese on top dipped in crushed nuts
2. Medjool dates stuffed with goats cheese, all wrapped in sliver of Parma ham and popped in oven for 10 mins
3. Fig (or pear) salad with blue cheese, walnuts and leaves with a balsamic or honey and white wine vinegar dressing.

I’m doing pate but serving it with garlic bread instead of toast and have bought one of those melting cheese pots for in the middle of the table with extra garlic bread 😁

Smoked salmon, asparagus, bread and some fancy mouse thing from m and z

@ilovecherries that is actually a brilliant solution. I get the rage too when I’m serving up and people are dawdling to the table. Ffs you have one job and it’s to sit down.
