Last minute present needed for DH. Usually buys what he needs, so hard to buy for, but he does like walking. Local walks or up hills. Any suggestions ?

If he lives anywhere near Dartmoor then this has kept my DH amused for about 1½ years:

Otherwise, a cosy hat in his favourite bright colour.

Aside from all the kit - lots of great mentions above.

Ordinance Survey app. It’s fantastic for mapping walks and tracking your progress through it and works when you are away from signal too as you can download the route at home. First time i used it, it was a 9 miler on a new route for me that was barely visible when on it, and didn’t put one step wrong.

Which waterproof gloves would people recommend? My mum loves walking and could do with some warm waterproof gloves.

Sealskins - they do lots of different styles. Completely waterproof.

I love my fleece lined buff. Doesn’t get in the way like a scarf and easy to take off and chuck in a pocket when I get warm.

Thanks @PennyJosephineMercury

Best thermos flask keeping drinks piping hot/ cold for upto 36hrs. Whole family have one in various sizes and colours. Some come with a handle. Good looking sturdy, well-built piece of kit and almost indestructable. Used by both of us walking Great Glen way. We filled one with sausage & onions/ other with soup for a warm lunch instead of cold sarnies when hill walking.

Oh and what about a step counter, like a Fitbit or something?

I came on to say a good flask, but beaten to it. In fact, I might try to get one for my DP, as ours is getting a bit old.

Otherwise, my DP has been enjoying his thermal long johns recently!
