I’m sorry everyone is feeling like this but I’m also with you. It’s been a really odd and hard couple of years, my last parent who I am so close with diagnosed with cancer last year so things very uncertain with that still, sort of getting over PND whisky managing a house and trying to do my best with 2 DC and a DH who is barely here but is grumpy af when he is. Everything always down to me and I absolutely can’t be bothered. Also my birthday next week I am just too tired for it all. Can’t be arsed with the disappointment on my bday either as I know he won’t have organised anything or got me anything!

Me and I usually adore Xmas.

normally by this point I’m done, wrapped and have Xmas movies on every night but I’m currently halfway through a bottle of wine thinking how I can get out of it this year.

I think lots of people are not feeling it this year. I haven’t really spoken to anyone who’s looking forward to it.

Money is much tighter this year for many, it’s the first year I have not been able to buy as much as I would like, the first year I have had to cut back. I am struggling to keep my home warm and provide food for dd so the thought of buying gifts for people who won’t really appreciate them just fills me with sadness. Luckily some family members are understanding and have told me not to spend much but I feel bad for not being able to buy nice gifts. I have managed to buy for the DD’s, luckily they are teens and understand the situation.

I am sure we will enjoy some aspects of Christmas but I am looking forward to it being over.

Me too.

This pm I made a big effort after picking up the kids from school. Christmas music on, bought tree, made cakes and decorated tree. Dcs had a good afternoon. I picked up for a bit while faking it, but that's also tiring.

Me neither. Just not in the mood for Christmas, but will have to make the effort for the children. Just the 4 of us, which is me, DH and 2 children. No relatives left alive anymore, not one aunt or uncle. Hate seeing all the xmas adverts showing big happy families, although I know that is not the reality!
I do everything, buy the presents, wrap the presents, organise and buy the food, cook the food, write and send the cards. I work too and I find it all utterly exhausting.
