Things that Santa left behind...

I'm looking for ideas please,
Over the years Santa has 'dropped' items when he has delivered the presents. We've had his driving licence, rudolphs tag, a receipt for a cafe in Lapland. I always find these things online but this year I'm stumped! Does anyone else do this or have any ideas? The only thing I can thing of is a small piece of red fleece that looks like its ripped off his jacket.
Thanks!

Last year Santa left his belt here! (Hobbycraft were doing two inch wide ribbon that looks like santas belt last year). Now it adorns our tree instead of tinsel.

His repeat prescription? Perhaps he gets recurrent tinselitis? Or is allergic to Brussel sprouts? Or has injections for Haemophilia B (Christmas disease) depending on the ages of your children.

LOL That's a bit dramatic .😂

F4chrissakes · 13/12/2022 21:14

We used to have mud in the porch and on the old towel I'd left out for the reindeer to wipe their hooves on.

What was Mummy doing with Santa to need to take his belt off .🙈

Some sweet ideas here!

I will never forget the year my Dad left a scrap of red fabric in the fire grate and a trail of chocolate coins leading through the house to the tree with the presents.
100% believed it when my dad said 'oh look Santa must have ripped his pocket on the fire and his pocket full of chocolate coins fell out!

Youvegotafriendinme · 13/12/2022 21:36

ive done a trail of chocolate coins from their stockings down to the presents, a reindeer bell with a large red ribbon on, santas button- complete with torn fabric, two lines of glitter on the decking in the garden (to look like that’s where the sleigh was) and last year he left his belt. This year he will be leaving his gloves or glove- haven’t decided yet!

I've had a Santa's wallet delivered from Amazon. It's dog a slay license, north pole bank card, Stamos, photo of Mrs Clause and some festive receipts and a lotto ticket! It's great.

Why? So your children can believe it's real? Or when they
say they don't believe, you can give them proof it's true?! Stop lying to your children and just enjoy Christmas without the false Santa is true nonsense....my kids love Xmas, 6, 3 and 1 and they don't believe! They can't wait for presents, they enjoy playing Santa games but they actually know it's fake....! 12??!! Maybe letting you enjoy yourself then! I'm sure someone has mentioned its not real....like at school? Actually I'm just speechless. Utterly speechless. No wonder Christmas is so stressful if you have to do all this!

Doesn't effect you in the slightest!!! It's a nice thing todo and Doesn't last forever so people want to make the most of it. No need to be so rude.

Slimjimtobe · 13/12/2022 22:10

We love rurally and we got manure and left loads of cow shite out on the drive 😂

Oh for goodness sake chill out. I’m sure her kids aren’t stupid and know it’s a bit of fun and aren’t being coerced in some evil deception. 🙄

We still leave a mince pie, sherry and carrot out and our kids are all young adults. It’s just part of the goofy magic and joy of Christmas - you should try it and stop being such a literal fun-sponge!

Oh come on, let people have a little fun & not be so serious! I want to do all these things that I see as magical & create memories for when my DD doesn’t believe in Santa! No one got hurt!

OvaryActions · 13/12/2022 22:53

Jesus, lighten up @birdglasspen2 😅

RaRaRaspoutine · 13/12/2022 23:06

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men @birdglasspen2

some people aren’t blessed with imagination though. That’s okay.

These are all brilliant, thank you!
We do the whats left on the plate thing, FC drank the beer, mince pie crumbs and the carrot bitten roughly by Rudolph.
I'm amazed we're still doing it as dd is 12 but the magic is well and truly alive in our house! 😍

I still do all this and my dc are 19 and 20.... But if I stopped it they wouldn't like it! Santa is left a very large baileys these days though! 😂

Aah a classic mumsnet misery!

In answer to your post, it's not stressful at all, I love it. My 16 year old doesn't believe, can't say its made any difference to our enjoyment of the day. We are a very happy and loving family (or is that not what you want to hear?)
Speechless you say? If only! 😂

Letter from the North Pole Council recalling certain toys because of slight asbestos risk.

HerbErtlinger · 14/12/2022 07:50

Drain a tin of prunes and then empty them into a pile in the garden, looks exactly like reindeer poo. My kids love it

gogohmm · 14/12/2022 07:59

When my kids were tiny they thought the "reindeer poo" was proof but actually my parents elderly dog was the culprit!

It is hardly stressful! No one has to do it, people enjoy having a bit of fun. I don't understand why people are so opposed to letting people having some craic and enjoying the magic.
