Do you tip or give gifts to delivery drivers, postal workers etc? I feel like I should do something to say thank you 🎄

I do with the final Christmas food delivery, but no one else.

Reugny · 11/12/2022 18:55

I forgot last year and remembered the next day.

It was because I didn't order any Christmas food including veg

The years before the delivery drivers have been puzzled by my weird shopping as some bits would clearly be missing. Even though I said "Great everything has arrived"

What do you give them? Looking for ideas! Thanks

I only give a fiver to the food delivery driver, but they always seem appreciative of it.

I've just got our milkman's ready for the morning just popped a fiver in a card with our Christmas order form.

Our post person is always different.

Orangedaisy · 11/12/2022 19:44

In order to tip the postie they would have to show up….not been for at least 10 days and I know I’m due some post….

How odd ours.comes every day they aren't on strike

mondaytosunday · 11/12/2022 20:12

No. It's never the same person where I live. If I had a business and used a service a lot and it was the same person then yes I'd tip.

I always give a gift to my Evri (formerly Hermes) driver as he’s been delivering to our house about 20 times a year for years. He’s so reliable and a really nice guy. Usually a tenner in a card and box of sweets. Growing up my mum used to always give something to our postman at Christmas, but we had the same postman for years and he’d always stop for a quick chat. These days we’ve had about 4 different post people this year alone and I’ve never met any of them in person as they don’t knock on the door anymore since covid.
