We moved two years ago and for two years since the we've been letting the side down as the road goes all out with the Christmas lights. I really want to do some thing year but don't know where to start! What are these amazing new lights that look like a really bushy garland of lights? How on earth do you fix them to brick/concrete? Is running them going to cost a fortune? Thanks for your help!

Look for cluster lights, we attach ours with cable clips/nails into the mortar.

I think I read that they cost around £1 a month to run, don't quote me though!

Yes the new LED lights aren’t expensive to run. Do you have gutters you could attach lights to? If so you can buy ‘gutter clips’ really cheaply which make it very easy to attach lights. The icicle lights look pretty effective.

Sorry I forgot I wrote this!! This is really helpful thanks! I'll get outside and see what I'm affixing them to, gutter clips would be perfect. DD wants icicles, DH wants cluster - which way will we go?! 😂
