But dd is cheerfully humming along to it without having realised that It's The Song!! We play Whamageddon every year so she knows the game - she just hasn't clicked. Is she still in?

Assuming it wasn’t a cover version, you are out. Duration doesn’t matter. Just that it’s the original song and you identify it as such. A trailer for Dash & Lily on Netflix did for me.
