i once did my own welcome letter to a friend who moved house from mystery neighbours (Jazzi and Spike) and I had so much fun. They told her that traditionally a meeting was held in her garden but not to worry as they would bring the canapés. she hid it from her DH as thought he’d be so worked up .

I love this thread but have never joined in. Im happy to do one from essex

I wish I could see people's reactions to getting these? Do you come clean or let them wonder forever?

I have done a J&R sent to my parents since 2014. They were the only ones I sent it to though as I knew they would twig and find it funny. We all kept it a major secret until last year when I was exhausted and ground down with life and said to them 'Sorry, no more Janet and Roys. I have lost inspo'. They screamed with laughter. They have saved them and had shared them around. But they knew it was me from almost the get go. They had about 2 years when my father was sure it was a couple my mother had started chatting to while on one of their many crusies. I think once they got the missive that inlouded pampas grass, swinging and an Italian playboy they realised who the culprit was. It was tremendous fun while it lasted.

My friends daughter who was 15 did one to her from 'John and Susan' 😂

I have never done one but would do one!

Beloved CatThiefKeith did my mums one years ago, I cried with laughter at my mum who found it hilarious that someone knew her so well when she couldn’t remember them one bit! I never ever told her the truth either 😂

@Spidey66 a Christmas card written by Janet and roy. You give your writer info about the recipient and they write a round robin type letter including those details eg; recent grand child and had the drive done.

Dear xx, we were so so happy to hear your son xx had a baby this year with y we're in the area because Roy is having his annual colonoscopy, isn't that fantastic timing!! Can't wait to see you all , don't worry about putting us up with Roy's redundancy money we bought a magnificent winnebago and we'll just park it on your drive! We saw it had been done recently, what a fantastic way to christen it!

Looking forward to seeing you all (please get the nice loo roll in for Roy and his colonoscopy prep)

Just remembered about this the other day! Growing up, I actually had neighbours called Janet and Roy... I probably wouldn't twig!
