It’s not a thing I do but then there isn’t anything in any calendar I have seen that suits me. I’m allergic to alcohol. I’m a soap & water girl no cosmetics and don’t wear makeup and I am vegan so that cuts out a lot of the food ones.
But I watch YouTubers who open advent calendars and find it fascinating and do you think they (or maybe last years one) is value for money?
Please stay nice. It’s meant as a lighthearted thread.

I had a variety of advent calendars for me in the past and never really had this big WOW factor.

I settled for chocolate this year, DH and I share one, all good and I prefer it to the jams or wines or beauty.

There’s loads of vegan advent calendars about, go and buy one now there’re reduced!

Oh I know there are. It’s not really something I feel compelled to do. I am just quite fascinated by all the different calendars there are and what people choose and whether they think it’s worth it etc…reading and hearing about other peoples ways of celebrating is just interesting.

DD(20) was raised vegan and had a chocolate calendar every year and a tiny mouse story book one which you can then hang on the tree. We only stopped doing it a couple of years ago when she moved out. We still have them though, maybe one day I will have grandchildren who will use them. 🤔

If you like vegan chocolate , the brand Nomo does a vegan and nut free chocolate calender, they sell it in Asda
I dont really like chocolate but I would love a calender with tiny perfume samples behind each door

I got 24yo DS an alcohol free beer advent calendar this year, it has been a huge hit. He is really into his craft beers and tinnie art is a thing for his peers - I can’t believe the range of different beers (IPAs, sours, lagers for anyone interested in these things). Some of the cans are beautiful too. It has actually been better received than the alcoholic one he had last year.

Thank you to everyone who recommended the Bonne Maman jam calendar! It's amazing 🤩 and I love it. I couldn't get it for £6 at Ocado as it was sold out but managed to get it on ebay for £8 and it actually arrived the next day which was awesome. Really enjoying my jam on toast in the morning.
