What is the best gift for an under 1 year old? Been a long time since I've bought for a baby.

We had the Tomy squeaky eggs. A big hit.

Don't underestimate the value of the classic wooden blocks. My DS played with them solidly for about 4 years...

Lamaze do a great line in sensory soft toys with lots of different textures.
