I think I need a few extra stocking for the older two and know that I have roughly spent the same on each but I’m getting the twitch thinking the youngest is going to have a much bigger pile…

Is this just the way to goes as they get older or should I give in to the twitch?

Missed 16 years olds presents form grandparents, tickets for SIX from one set and spiked platform converse from the other.

They're pretty fair piles. If you want a couple more stocking fillers I'd go for face masks/hair brush/one of those headband things that holds your hair back while you to make up/hair wrap towel

You can pick all of those things up for a pound or two in home bargains

upfucked · 02/12/2022 15:17

I would do it based on cost at that age.

QuietYou · 02/12/2022 15:28

Surely they are too old to be bothered about the size of their present pile?
They'll know the value of things and presumably you've got them all things they really want so will be happy with their gifts.

TheChristmasElf · 02/12/2022 15:36

Yes, it’s just a mum thing and like them to be fair, they are obviously old enough to know about Santa but they definitely still likes the magic and Santa piles are part of our tradition.

@girlmom21 thank you I was thinking about things like that, also thought about some card games…

I think mainly focus on giving what they want at this age. It’s more “what they wan than “who got what”, often kids young and old just want and expect something in particular. Did you cover that - they what they “want”? If so then the extras are fun and they will be excited as long as they have the thing or things they really wanted.

Inasec24 · 02/12/2022 19:54

I would say the pikes sound pretty even!

Card games is a good idea. I bought some trivia card games in The Range for a couple of pounds earlier in the week (can you tell I like a bargain 🤣)

AnotherCountryMummy · 02/12/2022 21:18

They look even and lovely. And as a horsey mad girl, I would have been made up with them 😍

JingsMahBucket · 02/12/2022 21:32

@TheChristmasElf i know nothing about horses but I found “pony tangle spray” really cute ☺️. I imagined a pony getting its hair done with lots of loving detangling going on. Also seeing a can of Iron Bru in all their stockings made me giggle. I think you’ve done a great job and all their presents are really varied. Hope they enjoy them, which I’m sure they will 😀

EricNorthmanYesPlease · 02/12/2022 21:41

would a 16 year old really like story cubes!? I use these with my 5 year old niece.

Also, how come the 11 year old has personalised silk pyjamas, the middle one just has fluffy pyjamas? Surely they are more appropriate for the eldest?

TheChristmasElf · 02/12/2022 22:00

@EricNorthmanYesPlease yes my 16 year old asked for these, she is doing A level Performing Arts and story cubes are encouraged for impromptu work…

and what can I say my 11 year old would like some silky PJ’s and 14 year old has asked for ALL the fluffiness, variety is the spice of life n all!!

Aside from the fact that I don’t know what half the stuff in your OP actually is 😂 I’m sure you’ve done it pretty fairly, I never have a clue what I’ve got until Christmas Eve!
you know them better than we do - if you’ve got one of them silk pjs and one fluffy it’s because you know they want/like them!
