Stocking fillers for 14 year old boys?

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 02/12/2022 08:28

Into sports, mostly football??

so far I have
2 cans of lynx
Grip socks
nike socks
whoopee cushion
football gloves

will add chocolate orange and chocolate coins but I'm struggling to think of things that aren't pointless filler but he'll actually appreciate and use. He spend his time either gaming or playing sports :/

any ideas welcome! Thanks

Bath stuff or shower gel designed for after sports. I've got DS (15) some epsom salts shower gel this year, but he also really like the actual salts for his post-football bath.
Socks and pants are always a winner, and last year he got a Nike snood that he's worn a lot for winter evening training sessions.

Comedycook · 02/12/2022 16:24

@Roundaboot love the Nike snood idea....I didn't know they existed. Just bought one for my Ds, so thanks!

TheHappiestChristmasTree · 02/12/2022 16:32

Big tube of Jaffa cakes/ Oreo's/ Pringles

Winter hat or gloves

Skatingqueen · 02/12/2022 16:48

In my sons I'm putting

Nike sports socks
A book
Choc coins
Lush bath bomb
Screen protector for phone
Nice pens for school
Choc chip muffin cake mix and muffin cases

Probably a bit crap but it was the best I could think of.

Skatingqueen · 02/12/2022 16:50

Some good ideas here too. Going to get the prime drink if I can after seeing this thread.

Skatingqueen · 02/12/2022 16:53

And a Nike snood

Good luck with the Prime! DS and his mates have been trying to get hold of some for months - I'd be Mum of the year if I found some for his stocking!

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 02/12/2022 17:23

DS(13) is getting:

a Parker pen engraved with his name (so he hopefully doesn’t lose it)
a tiny spirit level keyring
Chocolate
a bottle on Irn Bru WKD
A tube of peelable facemask (he loves a face mask 😂)
blu tac
Lynx
A Lush bath bomb
Hot chocolate stirrers
a magazine about military aircraft

MintJulia · 02/12/2022 17:39

My DS doesn't like football. So far I have

Headphones
Chocolate Elf
Waterproof gloves
New bike lights
Waterstones voucher
assorted toiletries

He sleeps like the dead so rather than do stockings, I'm going to try to swap his duvet cover while he's asleep, to a Christmas one, put up some fairy lights, change the lamp shades and add Christmas cushions while he's asleep so he'll wake up to a 'different room.' 😊

familyissues12345 · 02/12/2022 17:44

14 year old DS here too, such an awkward age!

I normally do themed stockings - no big presents. In the past I've done sports themed, a favourite was hot chocolate - a new mug, a couple of different hot chocolate tubs, flavoured syrup, toppings (marshmallows etc). That one was really popular.

I haven't decided what to do this year. We will have just moved house (PITA) so may do something along to lines of bits to make his new room look good. Don't know what though!

Will you be my mum @MintJulia ? You sound fab!

My DS is also a gamer. I've added some Kontrol Freak thumbsticks to his stocking. Apparently they are supposed to give you increased precision and accuracy Hmm. Probably just a gimmick but I'm sure my DS will like them.

ChocChipOwl · 02/12/2022 18:30

Mine is 16 and I've just done him an advent calendar so will share what I put in it as it's the same kind of stuff that goes into a stocking..

Mini bottles of Boss Bottled and Versace Eros

Charging cable

Scratch cards

Kinder buenos

Calvin Klein deodorant

Lindt balls

Harry's shower gel

heated razor

King of shaves shaving oil

Argon oil

Boss cap

Nike sports socks

Boss pants

Smart Putty

Mini Displate

Ice roller

Jelly beans

Zippo lighter (bit niche this one! They are NOT filled and not for use and he just collects the collectible ones)

Micro needling tool (hes pretty vain!)

Japanese marble drinks

Greggs gift card

Sounds a lot .. (IS a lot!) but I put it together over a couple of months and get some bargains along the way so, with some planning, I can do it relatively cost effectively

ChimpyChops · 03/12/2022 11:02

I always add in a Starbucks/other coffee shop voucher, £5 or £10 depending on budget.

Gaming voucher.

Football stuff - new water bottle etc.

Keep adding chocolate 🤣

Small set of flavoured hot chocolates.

CornishGem1975 · 03/12/2022 14:18

@Holidayqueen1 Gamer Goo is genius!

CornishGem1975 · 03/12/2022 14:23

Some great ideas on this thread - Nike Snood is definitely a winner.

Grassisbluer · 03/12/2022 16:33

Is the Nike snood the same as the neck warmer or are they different?

Sunshineismyfriend · 03/12/2022 17:16

Thanks for this thread. Would never have known about a snood, keyboard putty or the sweaty hand cream!

Sunshineismyfriend · 03/12/2022 17:18

Can anyone find football skins / under armour for this age group? I’ve been looking and can’t find much at a reasonable price.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 03/12/2022 17:24

pringles
beanie hat with built in rechargeable light

I got some from Adidas a while ago. They always seem to have offers on so not expensive

Roundaboot · 03/12/2022 18:12

WellTidy · 03/12/2022 18:24

christmas marshmallows from flying tiger
slush mixes from b&m
bath bombs
phone stand
card game
books
keyboard cleaner putty
glasses cleaner wipe thing

Comedycook · 03/12/2022 18:30

I went to home bargains yesterday and found some push up bars (you put on floor and hold onto them while you do press ups) £7.99 so got them to go in his stocking

MissBattleaxe · 03/12/2022 18:30

I recently bought my birthday boy lynx shower gel and a shower puff. He said it was the best shower he ever had! Total spend 1.50. also hot chili sauce, Blu tack, an ice cream bowl or scoop with a note saying he has his own Ben and Jerry's in the freezer, mine also really get excited about designer socks so Hilfiger/ Calvin Klein.
