Football kit - rashford?

My DS is obsessed with Marcus Rashford and wants away Man U kit for Christmas. Problem is - he wants it with Rashford on the back with us £64 (what!!??) whereas plain one I can get for £37. Do you guys know of anywhere I can purchase a cheaper kit of iron on letters … IDK. Do we just bite the bullet and pay £64?

If it’s what he really wants, and you can afford it, bite the bullet and get a proper one. Look for a second hand one of the same age; as an alternative.

I wouldn’t try and do it yourself, it never goes well, and it’d be really noticeable on a football shirt.

Where on earth are you getting a plain one for £37 unless its a fake one or a previous season. They are £50 normally.

So expensive aren’t they?!
here’s the £37 one. Looks legit, not official site though

@TakeYourFinalPosition thanks for the advice, might just have to do that as the one and only present and lots of chocolate 😅

Just get it (if you can afford it). The ones with cheap / homemade printing always look home made!

girlmom21 · 01/12/2022 15:21

OP look at this seller www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385265281119?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=8gi06m92qgs&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=GysOYeGtRDS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

It looks like these are shirts where the names of non-players have been removed so you might be able to find his size. The only issue might be the number but you could then get his name printed as sports direct or something

Comefromaway · 01/12/2022 15:34

Ah, it's the mini-kit. I think those sizes are just out of stock on the main site.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/12/2022 15:36

How old is he OP? If he's past believing in Santa, and he's asked for it so you won't ruin any surprise, you could say to him that if he gets the Rashford shirt, he won't get much else. Or he could have plain one and a few bits.

Comefromaway · 01/12/2022 15:37

The home kit in those sizes are currently £31.50 on the official website or £45 with the name added.

raspberryjuiceandpompoms · 01/12/2022 15:49

@RockingMyFiftiesNot good point. He’s only 6 and he still believes in Santa. Luckily, he didn’t ask for anything else, so chocolates and etc are going to be a bonus I suppose.

@Comefromaway yup, the mini kit! Thanks so much, I must be looking somewhere wrong though as I can’t find away kit ages 5-6 on the main site. Will do some more digging. £45 is much much better price!

@girlmom21 ooh, thank you for the link! I’ll keep an eye.

@gianfrancogorgonzola thats what DH says! I’m I’m rather clueless when it comes to football 🤦🏻‍♀️

They haven't got the away kit on the main site in that size, hence why I guessed it must be out of stock.

if it makes you feel better the kits / shirts we've bought have been BRILLIANT cost per wear value. They wear them until they are (far!) too small and good for multiple occasions!

TulipTuesday · 01/12/2022 20:00

As @gianfrancogorgonzola says the kits are definitely good value in the long run.

They wash well, dry super quick, need no ironing and will be worn to death. They are also great memory items (my lads have got all of their old kits and my mum kept all of mine and my brother’s going back years)

I’d suggest sizing up though, they often run small and you want it to last a while.

raspberryjuiceandpompoms · 05/12/2022 11:36

Thanks everyone who responded 🙏 we bit the bullet and bought the official one. My little boy is going to be absolutely thrilled 😁
