How are you all getting on?

I had a really good couple of weeks and then came to a halt! Going to make another dent in it today though, between going to the local retail park and an online shop tonight

Then will start wrapping maybe next week I think.

How's everyone else doing? Are you all smug and finished?

Presents all done and wrapped. Now have to wrap the presents for the birthdays that fall over the festive season.

Christmas card writing is next on the list starting with those that need to be posted. We don’t send that many nowadays, so that shouldn’t take too long.

I want to do a decent clean and a bit of reorganisation before the tree and decorations are put up. I have promised myself this year that I am going to have a good sort out of the decorations, although I have been saying that for a number of years and never seem to get round to it.

I have done next to nothing. I tend to buy dc presents throughout the year and so at least have a stack of gifts but they’re fairly generic so I need to go through them and get a few more specific to each child. I don’t have many other people to buy for but I haven’t even started with anyone else.

I have put a tree up - no decorations yet - and got the cards out. I’ll decorate the tree and put a second tree up today.

I haven’t decided what will be Christmas dinner, I was reading with interest the thread on alternatives to turkey meals. Usually by now I’d have ordered all the food but I learnt last year that you can just get a turkey a couple of days before and the shops don’t run out. Pudding is the important meal in this house. Dc don’t like traditional fruit based puddings so I might make profiteroles in advance, freeze them and then make a tower as pudding. Or I might make meringues and freeze them too.

I'm still trying to choose a toy kitchen whilst worrying that I am running out of time to actually order one... 😬

@NoNamesLeft234678 have you looked at Lidl or Aldi for wooden kitchens? Lidl has loads of toys at the moment and their wooden toys are really good and good value. I would think Aldi is much the same.

About 1/3 wrapping done. I’ve planned to finish that off this Friday.

Christmas stamps purchased and I found some White Chocolate liqueur in Aldi which I’m thrilled with as haven’t ever found it before!

Decorations and lights going up on Saturday.

Will pick up a few snacks and treats as and when throughout December to replenish stocks, but otherwise done!

Now just to focus on the two parties we’re hosting and the decorations and costumes for church nativity….

DS is all done, although I expect I'll end up grabbing a few little bits as I see them. Haven't bought many gifts for the adults in the family yet though as I always struggle with that. We've got a few Christmas markets to go to so hoping I'll pick some presents up there.

We're still over a week away from getting the tree but I need a tree topper which I'll try to buy this weekend. I'll also get some wrapping paper and new tree lights. I'm sure I remember that ours died as I took them down last year!!

We're doing Christmas on our own again (bliss) so not got too much else to organise, but DH and I have just planned the date that we'll do our food shop.

Have managed to get a bit more shopping done. Sis is now done. Niece almost done. Ordered a top and fleece jacket for DS and he has said he has a list of links to send me for things he’d like.

Need to properly decide menus for over Xmas and NY.

need to check if we have any wrapping paper.

Need to write cards.

Need to get decorations etc down from loft. I think that will be either tomorrow or Sunday. There is some stuff in the garage including the trees that can maybe come in first.

Feeling a bit more in control than when I first posted on Tuesday!
