9yo Xmas present ideas please

Really have no idea what to get my DS.

Have got him tickets to a sport event that he likes but I need to get something he will physically have on the day and be able to play with.

He loved lego but the last two sets he got, he started them but didnt finish them.

I'm really really stuck for ideas so any suggestiond welcome.

I've found this same problem for my 9 year old DD this year- the things she wants are personalised football kit, skincare stuff, and tickets to a musical. I've got her a harry potter magical minis playset and a scrawlbox art set as her 'play on the day' things (on sale and less than £10 in total as she has maxed her budget already!). She has never believed in Santa (she has anxiety/additional needs and the whole Santa thing doesn't work for her - her younger siblings are believers) so there's no expectations of anything additional and she would be happy with what she asked for, but like you I want her to have something with play value on the day.

Also considered bubble tea kit, funko pop figures, Roblox toy set and slime kit (but she has just decided she's not into slime any more!). Previous hits have been a joke set (with whoopee cushion etc), a magic set, a lie detector, spy kit, and Lego dots.
