First Christmas day without dc

After a protracted family court experience, we are finally at the stage where the dc will be at their dad's for Christmas. They will spend Christmas eve and morning with me and my wife, then off to their dad's for most of the day and into boxing day.

What would you do for Christmas without your dc? A different sort of dinner? Booze it up? Watch shit TV?

I'm not anticipating feeling sad, I'll have them for the morning after all, but I'd like to plan some nice things for the two of us at home that day. We've vague notions of going for a brisk walk somewhere nearby ish, but that's all at the moment.

It's Christmas - go back to bed and have lots of lovely noisy sex, with champagne and smoked salmon in bed. Pre or post sex - not necessarily at the same time, but hey whatever floats your boat!

Sort of depends what you like! So, is there a nice fancy country pub with a roaring fire to add to your walk? Would you like to go out for Christmas dinner, maybe stay there? Otherwise, if you are staying in people, but some really nice treat food, light the fire, pop on some music/TV. Or, open your doors to people and have a big party?

Loving these different ideas, definitely something to consider, especially the going back to bed one. 😁

We went for a lovely walk last year, took a disposable bbq tray, made a little camp fire in the woods with picnic blanket, mulled wine out of a flask and cooked lovely ribs and chicken and stayed there til dark. Home for a hot shower, change of clothes and then hit the pub x
