Is it too early to expect there to be fresh cranberries in the shops?
I was hoping to ‘get ahead’ for Christmas and make the sauce well in advance.
No sightings in Lidl or Tesco yet.

I remember when Delia caused the Great Cranberry Stampede one year back in the 90s.

Pointless anecdote. Sorry.

The drought and hot weather in North America hasn't helped so supplies will be less this year. Harvest season is September to to November so would have thought they may be about by now

They're in Waitrose

Tesco sells frozen cranberries. No need to defrost before making your sauce & safe to re freeze once cooked.

I saw fresh cranberries in Tesco on Tuesday.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 25/11/2022 07:57

No fresh in our Tesco yet - also waiting.
Haven't ever seen them frozen but will have a look and see if I can get some as back up.

Interesting to know re: potential shortage. I haven’t been able get dried cranberries in Aldi for weeks now. I use them in my granola recipe.

Thank you all for the cranberry information. We will keep trying Tesco for fresh or frozen; if no luck, will look in Waitrose.

Morrisons had them tonight. Keep looking.

I was also going to say Morrison's have had fresh cranberries for the last couple of weeks
