Christmas party

I'm thinking of having a party before Christmas, I've never hosted one before. I have four kids 16 - 7.
Initially I just thought I'd have a few of my youngest ds's friends over but, decided it'd be nice to make more of it.
What sort of entertainment should I provide? Obviously I know what sort of thing to offer for the kids but what about the older ones and the adults?
And food? Easy as possible as I'm having chemo at the mo, but I really want to have a party as moved into my house in march and couldn't have one in the previous house due to lack of space. It'd be during the day rather than the evening. Would love to make it special for my kids.

Def some kind of ‘drink pong’ game! Never known this not to go down well and it’s literally paper/plastic cups and lightweight ping pong balls - great laugh all around.
id just do frozen pizzas for food tbh, possibly bowls of crisps if you feel the need but pizza would be fine or hotdogs?
Pinata? One for younger ones and maybe dartboard for older ones? - both blindfolded to make it more interesting 😁 sounds great - have fun

Oh and I don’t mean alcohol drink pong obviously - any works

Depending on the ages of the dc and what you have available, I'd be suggesting some sort of gaming party - we've had a lot of fun with mario karts and similar, and it is very easy to set up, assuming you have (or can borrow) some sort of a games console.

For food, I find hotdogs super easy and quite popular with kids (they can stay in a slow cooker until you need them) and I'd also do frozen pizza like the pp suggested. Since there's adults, maybe a buffet of bread, cheese and other picky bits - olives, dips etc. Maybe some frozen party food bits.

This is all assuming you are not a lot classier than I am!

Stick a load of baked potatoes in the oven and they can add their own toppings - keep it simple with cheese, beans and maybe tuna or coleslaw. Or do a big spag bol if you’ve got a large slow cooker.

I ordered muchie boxes from the local take away. They were a massive hit and no prep.

Lots of ideas (if a little overwhelming) to entertain kids at parties

Find local children's entertainers and book them - well worth the spend as they are au fait with keeping order while you rush around doing the food etc
