Kids smart watch (8) with tracking/listen in function

Has anyone come across a children's smart watch that has or is compatible with a tracking app that has 'listen in' function? I used the Find My Kids app on another DC phone when they were a young teen and it helped a lot to be able to quickly listen in that they are OK without having to disturb them. I feel DC (8) is a little too young still for a phone but likes to play at a nearby friends house and do short walks to call for other friends. I can contact the parents but don't like to be to pestering them!

I am loving all the doomsdayers and naysayers on this thread. All complaining about monitoring children's and fearful of being recorded by a rouge parent. Yet you are all cool with apple or Google or alexa tracking your every move, every search and partial recording of things you say. No you can't take someone to court over this and I doubt the Police would be very interested either.

OP, did you make a decision on this and would you recommend whatever you ended up buying?

🤣 how true ! Alexa and Apple are already listening to you all

Not if you don't have an Alexa or any Apple devices.

Christ that’s messed up. Listen in function. I didn’t even know they existed. My dd9 has a watch with a calling function but it doesn’t have gps. There are lots on Amazon with gps though. Please don’t listen in to your child op that’s such an invasion of privacy. It’s awful

Tracking is fine.

Listening in is creepy as fuck.

Not sure why you need the listen in function. Fwiw I got my 9yo a phone as she was walking a mile to school by herself. I got a cheap smart phone but locked down all functionality except calling and texting me and a couple of other safe numbers and tracking.

People are so worried about people privacy how about there are non verbal kids like autistic children that can't communicate when someone is bullying them, there have also been abusive teacher if anything I think classroom should have cameras in the classroom for child safety, as teens they can speakup but young children can easily be scare or manipulated so there is nothing wrong with listening in on your child

I'm so disgusted and disappointed by these so called mothers comments towards this person seeking help!! My son is severely autistic and has gotten away from school is nonverbal and if someone is abusing him he's never gonna relay that info because he cannot. There is multiple reasons this option is wanted and very necessary. It may be needed in a divorce or guardianship situation where abuse is suspected regardless of your reason you owe absolutely nobody your reasoning!! ( A little intrusive)!!! I honestly can't help but laugh because after all are we not responsible for our children?? she is 8! She is vulnerable it's not like she is a 16 year old who can take care of herself to a degree, that is able to speak with her parents and communicate with them about any situation! Ever thought that maybe parents don't necessarily want their young children to be glued to a phone they don't need but rather for safety and emergencies have a way to reach mom or dad!! Jesus I could go on and on !! That's just the thoughts I had in 4 minutes of seeing the post and comments so I cannot fathom how brainless you'd have to be not to think there is any possibility that it would be beneficial! Sincerely a parent and friend who cares for mothers trying there best!!!
