Hello, I need an idea for a cocktail.
I need something sharp rather than sweet - but still festive.
Think Aperol Spritz/margarita but more Christmassy.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Whiskey sours?

Rum and ginger? The Gizzi? Winter spiced old fashioned?

Negroni Sbagliato? Or a Campari spritz (same as aperol but with Campari)

With Prosecco in it?

This is delicious. I made it at New Years a few years ago www.liquor.com/recipes/breakfast-martini/

Thanks so much - all look gorgeous.

Going for a Campari Spritz! Fits the bill. What can I call it though? Want to re-name it something Christmassy....

A Campari spritz is lovely OP, but it's bitter / dry, not really sharp. For sharp I think you need something with either lemon or lime

Dry is fine, just didn't want it too sweet.

Is a Poinsettia too sweet? Also Prosecco-based but with cranberry juice and triple sec. It looks really pretty in a coupe glass.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 17/11/2022 16:32

I make Poinsettia with Prosecco, cranberry juice and a splash of gin to reduce the sweetness as I wouldn't use the rest of the Cointreau/Triple Sec .

Inasec24 · 17/11/2022 16:37

I might make Campari Spritz but call it Poinsettia because the name is more festive...
