What do you have as your Christmas table centrepiece? Need inspiration.

I have a red tablecloth with gold pattern, gold placemats, white plates and red napkins. Need something for the middle!

Thanks!

We have a wooden window box made from pallets fillet with pine cones, nuts and dried oranges. There are three candles in there too. From the ceiling there are strands of fairy lights and baubles hanging down on ribbon.

I used these three tree ornaments with these three candle holders, all set in a cluster in the middle of the table.

My table cloth is golden/wheat with a deep red border and central embroidery of holly and berries in green, red and gold.

I've got a narrow tray in the middle which I decorate with ceramic houses with tealights, a mini Christmas tree, artificial snow and orange slices

Holly from the tree in next door's garden

I used to fill a large glass bowl with water, some of those glass nugget thingies and some gold stars , then float some of the round floating candles .
Much safer than candlesticks and heavy so less likely to get knocked and easier to see across the table .

Since the cats arrived , no candles !

To add, our table is quite small, square, 4 chairs. So a central decoration is best to leave as much room as possible for the food!

These ideas all sound beautiful. I think I just need to be a bit creative...

Our table cloth is dark red damask with silver and black place and drink mats. We have two tall (ish) silver candle sticks. We also ask our local florist to make up a table decoration. She always keeps it low (so you're not peering through flowers to talk to people) and we tell her what our colour scheme is. Last year she did a lovely one with twigs painted silver and red berries. I suppose if you're at all artistic it wouldn't be difficult to make your own, but we aren't 😁.

My top tip is if you are going to need to take the centrepiece off the table for any reason (tablecloth needs a wash, you need more space, the table needs moving etc) it's really helpful to have the centrepiece on a tray or contained somehow so you can move it all in one go.

Also totally agree with PP about needing space for food. We serve from a different table so we can take up a fair bit of room, but if you are having all the dishes on the table the centrepiece needs to be quite small or portable.

This is mine and it's ridiculously easy, just some excess tree branches, pine cones and a couple of oranges

Sorry

Ah that’s lovely @VivaJen. I’ve had so many different centrepieces/themes over the years and like to switch it up fairly often, but I’ve a real soft spot for the handmade/handcrafted/natural ones. Proper hygge. 😍

I have a copper bowl (it gets an annual polish for the season) in which I put a big piece of Oasis in a smaller bowl of water, then stick random bits of assorted greenery from the garden into the Oasis until it’s completely concealed, plus a red or white candle in the middle. I’m not at all artistic but it always looks really nice.
