So far we have got him a balance bike and helmet and I’ll get him some clothes. He was completely spoiled with all the big plastic toys etc for birthday/last Christmas so our house is still full of those and I don’t want to buy more plastic toys just for the sake of it. Anyone have any suggestions? Thinking maybe a slide for the garden instead 🤔

At that age mine loved the slide and a trampoline with a handle.

It was about that age she started liking Duplo as well.

Playmobil 123 and a wooden train set were the hit here at that age. If you're giving other people gift suggestions they have the additional benefit of being small and easy to pack away!

We didn't have a garden at the time, but I think he would have liked a sand and water table for outside.

We have a 3yo and 18mo so all the stuff we got DD1 when she was little, we still have. Balance bike, little trampoline etc

So we are getting DD2 a dolly & pushchair, colouring books, new bedding set, a projector light for the ceiling and some reading books. Card factory have some lovely bed time books that are really inclusive and educational too Smile

At that age my DS enjoyed, as some pp have already mentioned:

Sand pit (still have it and he’s 7 now) - just make sure it’s watertight
Sand & water table
Wooden train set
Duplo
Little Tikes slide (can be used inside too)
Colourful bouncy ball
Toy kitchen (we had a wood one from Little Tikes but Ikea do one too) with lots of accessories like pots & pans, food etc
Puzzles - Orchard Toys do them from 18 mths

Great ideas thanks! Sand pit could be a good shout ☺️

Invest in some Duplo or a Brio train set

CakeCrumbs44 · 12/11/2022 15:40

Brio or Bigjigs train track is a great idea and something you can add to over time if he enjoys it.

Same with a wooden toy kitchen - but might be better for next year.
