Any recommendations for a lovely small sized kit suitable for a 12 year old please?

There are plenty of bracelet type kits on shein, I think amazon might have similar too.

I bought a jewelery making kit from Julz Beads in Cornwall a while sgo and was realky impressed with it. A couple of pairs of pliers, lots if different types of beads, findings wire chain etc . Basically everything you need , including instructions, to make simple jewellry using a variety of techniques.
This gives you the ability and confidence to progress to making up your own ideas or copying items you see in shops for a fraction of the cost.
I think it was about £16 but you may be able to find a vouchrr code.
They also do simple bracelet kits just beads to string onto memory wire for a few quid, in various colour combinations.
Well worth a look.

It depends on how much you want to spend really and what the 12yo wants to make. You can get some kits like those above for simple bead threading to make bracelets (knots need to be secured with clear nail varnish), or for more, you can get something like this
