My 3 year now firmly knows what he wants for Christmas, and I'm not sure it even exists! He would like mummy and baby dragon soft toys that must be pink (either the mum or the baby I suppose) and the baby dragon must be hand sized apparently. I think he may have seen the type of toys that have babies that zip inside the mummy one. I have spent ages looking but can't seem to find any dragon ones, let alone in pink and the right size? Has anyone seen anything that might fit the bill. My seven year old has just announced that he knows santa isn't real so I really want to keep the magic going for my three year old!

We have a pink beanie boo dragon, the name is Darla, I think it may be discontinued although Amazon do have it. Not sure if it comes in multiple sizes, ours is one of the mid sized ones.

Have you looked on etsy? You can get soft toys made. My dd really wanted a woodlouse so I got one crocheted for her and she loves it. I used smiggle and bean (she's on facebook, etsy and i believe has a website too. She is very lovely and has made us quite a few teddy's now all absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced!)

RedLem0nade · 04/11/2022 17:02

I was so going to suggest this- Ty toys definitely have small dragons (on the end of a key ring) so I’m sure you could find some in mum and baby sizes.

Notjusta · 04/11/2022 17:02

Where do you think he might have seen it? Is it an advert somewhere? YouTube has loads of mad stuff on it - could he have see it on there?

Notjusta · 04/11/2022 17:03

Your older one isn't in to Pokemon is he? Just thinking there's a lot of dragon-y type creatures that the younger one might have seen.

In honesty I think he may have just made up some combo of things he's seen 🤦‍♀️ He saw a pink dragon toy which he liked when we were on holiday in France but the mum and baby thing seems to be something he has since added from somewhere, and yes, he may well have seen something on YouTube and his brother does watch pokemon so could equally be something from that 😆 Having something made might be our only option - thanks for the recommendation @BadgerLovesMash, I'll check it out! Thanks for the other suggestions too, will also have a look into the ready made toys and different sizing options.

Rose dragon from Jelly cat comes in more than one size. Probably a pricier option though

I was in a shop just last weekend that had lovely soft toy dragons of different colours and I think sizes. It was in the New Forest. This was the shop but unfortunately I can't see the soft toys on the website...

This comes in different sizes. My DS has a Jellycat dragon. It is lovely.

Olaf5 · 04/11/2022 17:31

Yeah second the jelly cat ones, ds has a lovely little green one but I'm sure they came in loads of colours

YorkieTheRabbit · 04/11/2022 17:40

Do you have a local seamstress? I imagine you’d be able to have them made to size and colour of your choice.

It's worth having conversations with kids about what Santa can and can't do.

We do a list together and talk about however magics Santa is, he can't bring something that doesn't exist.

My son is terrible for wanting toys of specific modes of transport. This year he wants a toy 75 bus. We look online together and agree what bus toy is closest to what he actually wants.

I've done this with my 3 year old too.

Zapf Creations had two interactive dragons, a larger one and a smaller one. I think they are both discontinued, could he have seen them on a YouTube video?

Also furreal and little live etc have several interactive baby dragon and hatching dragon ranges. Also search for dinosaurs, and purple things, but you are probably right that he'd made it up. One of mine at 3 wanted a pink plane I searched high and low, and eventually found a pink Wow Toys plane, I don't think she ever played with it 😂. In the imagination of a three year old, she probably wanted a real one.

What about these pink dragons from paw patrol?

nickievans1987 · 05/11/2022 06:10

Ooh, those paw patrol dragons might well be the thing! He does love paw patrol. I don't know if he ever said soft toys or if I just assumed now I think about it. I might have to try to pin him down a bit more about what he is actually after (though I also fear making the request more specific 😅) Thank you all for your help, definitely some good options here to look through.

Hopefully it is, as they are both still in stock. Many of us I think now have to experience a child requesting something discontinued years ago and selling for £££ on eBay, thanks to YouTube!

Jellycat! They do loads of soft toy dragons in loads of sizes.. just saw a teeny one that’s pink (think it’s called little rose dragon or similar) they do the same style but bigger in black, white, or a nice sage green too.

here

Froppysue · 05/11/2022 14:15

Clearly I should have rtft sorry! 🙈

CatOfTheLand · 05/11/2022 18:35

Try typing 'dragon plush' into AliExpress and see if you can find two suitable ones
