Presents for Uni Student

My DD is at uni quite a distance away and will be coming home and going back to uni by train for the Xmas holidays. It is also quite a rural area so not much in the way of shops there.

I'm looking for ideas for Xmas presents for her bearing in mind that anything she gets will have to be carried back on the train along with all her other belongings. Also there aren't many shops there so vouchers could be tricky as there isn't a shopping centre/area to spend them.

Any ideas welcome

Can she have online shopping delivered to her ? My dd is a similar age and uses sites like ASOS over high street stores.

Mine is in the UK and I'm not so I'm in the same boat!
I'll be getting her: some vouchers for places like Marks & Spencer (nice food treats etc) Costa, etc. Some obvs can also be used online
A laptop cushioned tray and a laptop case
A voucher for a "book spa" day at an independent bookshop in the city where she's studying (Bath)
A hi speed charger
Decent ear buds after a series of £20 ones that are ok for a year then crap.
Basically more student useful stuff than usual.

no room for bits in student accommodation plus they often change when they go to uni

I'd start off by asking her if there are specific things she's found she could do with. Mine wanted some decent Bluetooth headphones, so she could cut down background noise when she was working.

Exactly in the same position with our DS who is at uni 400 miles away and will be returning by train after Christmas. He has asked for some new airpods as his main gift. I am also buying small things that he can pack in his bag - he likes Vacer (very simple rings and bracelets) which is reasonably priced, his favourite aftershave etc.
