LED strip lights

Can anyone recommend some battery operated LED strip lights? 12 year old is desperate for some for his bedroom shelves but I havn't got a clue! I'm guessing the plug in ones will leave a hideous cable dangling down hence the battery operated ones

I need some ideas too for this - not a clue which ones to get!
