Looking for recommendations for books to buy for DD7. We normally give the kids a stack at Christmas and whilst DS10 is easy to buy for, I'm out of ideas for DD7.

She likes:
Enid Blyton
Mr Penguin
Leonora Bolt
Rabbit & Bear
Roald Dahl (some)
Truth Pixie and others in that series
13 Storey Treehouse

She didn't like
Worst Witch
Narnia
How to Train Your Dragon

She's a sensitive soul and gets frightened easily (she cried in Encanto 😳) so prefers books on the silly side or where friends are having adventures etc.

Her reading level is pretty strong for her age and she likes chapter books rather than short books.

Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

At that age my dd enjoyed old fashioned books, Milly molly Mandy, my little sister etc.
ds2 just turned 8, he’s a great little reader, and his fave is Enid blyton, but currently loves David Williams. 🤷🏻‍♀️😍

We adored the Nadia Shireen picture books when DD was little as they had this element of silliness. Anyhow the author now has a reading book series called Grimwood which DD is devouring.

Also if you havent got it already the Christmasaurus is fab. There is also a musical audiobook with extra silly songs (we belt out the christmas makes me sick song at the top of our voices on a regular basis). Ive bought DD another of the Tom Fletcher books for christmas.

My little girl is loving the first book in the series Mummy Fairy and Me by Sophie Kinsella. She was in stitches at one scene of chocolate milk coming down like rain from the ceiling 😂

My 7 year old dd loves The Faraway Tree books and Jacqueline Wilson has done a reboot of that series, which my dd really enjoyed. I second the Daisy and the Trouble With..., Isadora Moon, Mummy Fairy and Me and The Naughtiest Unicorn series. All big hits here!

13 Storey Threehouse has a Christmas one out - 156. My son can't wait!

Also agree about Tom Gates books, they tend to be 2 for £7 on Amazon/Supermarkets.
