What makes Christmas magical?

I'm hosting Christmas for the first time this year, it will be me and DH, our 5 and 2 year old DS, my parents and brother and his parents and grandma.

I'm feeling the pressure mounting as we have only recently moved into our home, it all needs decorating so it's not a 'lovely' house to visit at the moment.

What will give Xmas day that magic that I used to feel when I was younger? What is it? Obviously presents under the tree, turkey and all
The trimmings, but I'm worried I won't be able
To make it feel special and magical for everyone like my mum used to be able to do for us. Or am I overthinking it?

Just being together! Don’t over think it!
As a kid it is magic because you just don’t see all the hard work going on around you - it just seems to happen!

I agree with previous suggestions of relaxed and welcoming hosts. Don't put too much pressure on yourselves. Make your house welcoming and happy but don't stress about it being perfect. The kids will want to play with their toys, the grandparents will want to watch them or will want to doze, if you and your other half have cracked it, everyone will feel comfortable enough to do so.
For me, the magic of Christmas is the anticipation. And just being happy and relaxed in everyone's company. Make what you can in advance. Think about how you can cut down in the tidying up after.
