Are they worth it? Is there usually good deals or discounts on them?

I bought these for ds1 and dd when they were around 8 & 6. So before they had their mobile phones. To be honest, as much as they had the wow factor when they opened them, I don’t think they’ve truly had much use. I think the novelty wore off fairly quickly, and the replacement films are quite pricey, so it’s not something you’d be topping up every week.
DS2 is now 8 and he’s used it occasionally, but I think they’re a lot of money for the usage ours got from them.

They seem popular with teens in wanting them, but my daughters one was used a few times in the first week and probably never again. The quality isn't that good either. Skinnydip was the cheapest when I bought as they had an online sale and a code that stacked.

I also bought one for DD before she had a camera. She loved the idea of it but the photo quality is a bit rubbish. It was an expensive bit of fun. It rarely gets used.

Our instax gets used when we go away (memory making type stuff lol) We’ve built up a nice instax collection over the years.

DD wants a camera if her own which is madness because we already have one, so I’ve decided to get an instax printer, she can use her phone. This will please my other DD as it connects to her switch and she would much prefer printing out her gaming adventures 😅

We have seen that advice consistently actually that it is a bit of a novelty. We were at a wedding in the summer and one was left out for the kids and they loved it which is why we were looking at one, but can see how pricey the film is so can see that once that runs out the novelty would quickly wear off.

Looking at second hand ones now to see if it can at least take the sting out of the price a little
