Does anyone decorate their front door area?

We've got outdoor lights up all year. I have a Christmas door mat and we did have little trees with battery operated lights either side of the front door. They didn't last though and died by the spring.

I am looking for some ideas for this year. B&M have metal santas and snowmen that sit on springs for £12.99 that looks quite nice but I am concerned they also won't last if it's a harsh winter and they just go rusty.

I think it depends on your front door area. Ours is a door (ha!) with a long side window down one side.

We can, therefore, put an unlit wreath on the door and then we put a long, tall, lit tree inside the window so the twinkly lights shine through.

I decorate outside our front door, it’s undercover which helps keep the worst of the weather off.
I always make a wreath for the door. I have a real tree in a pot which will have battery lights on a timer. I’ve potted up some small trees into hanging baskets, I got these last year for the house from Bloom & Wild, I’ll arrange small baubles around the base of the trees and more tiny lights

Previously I made a large arrangement that was attached to a bamboo cane, it was made up of holly and conifer branches with battery lights intertwined and baubles on matching ribbon hanging at different heights. I was about five foot long and hung horizontally, I used the hooks where we usually have hanging baskets.

There are some lovely ideas on Pinterest, look up Christmas porch/front door ideas.
