As per the title, he likes surprises 😩

Basketball hoop

Football table or ice hockey table

Lego or Lego technic

3ofus3 · 23/10/2022 20:13

My 9 year old only really likes playing on his Xbox at the moment 🤣 unless he's at football! So Xbox games, Xbox accessories and football accessories! Oh and maybe some gaming vouchers so he can go to the game shop and pick something himself. He enjoyed doing that last year. What sort of stuff is he into?

woff45 · 23/10/2022 20:18

Thanks both. He has an older brother so we have most things already 🙈 I've bought a bit of Lego but he's not crazy into it. He loves arts and crafts. Xbox crazy (but already have and have Game Pass) he loves shopping but his birthday is December so will suggest to family vouchers but he'd like presents for Christmas.

Ah okay! Have you seen the Xbox wall mounts you can get? They are cool and also very tidier than having it on the side by the tv! What about a new controller? Wireless?

woff45 · 23/10/2022 20:34

Thank you, controller is a good shout as he shares the Xbox with his brother and I bet he'd love his own special controller.

Ds is almost 10 so for his birthday and/or Christmas he’s getting the following:

Tickets to see hot wheels monster trucks live
A cheaper version of a GoPro
two new ps4 controllers plus a stand
Echo dot
Camo clothing (his latest obsession)
Stocking fillers:
Giant tube of Pringles
shower foam/bath bombs/face masks (he loves them)
Hot chocolate
His own light dumbbells
PS4 voucher

That’s all the ideas I’ve got. I’m finding him much more tricky than his older sister.

WreckTangled · 23/10/2022 20:42

Oh I’m also going to do some homemade vouchers for trip to Costa/McDonald’s/cinema/magazine/I will tidy your room etc that he can use when he chooses.

You can get controller skins as well which are nice little stocking fillers! And the little grips you can put on the buttons. My son was obsessed with these last year! Also what about a headset?

Love that idea!

Microscope spy kit. Less nerdy than it sounds. ...Ok actually exactly as nerdy as it sounds.
Nintendo credit voucher
Puzzle
Some books

Let's face it I'm place marking as I'm clueless. 9 yr old DS is a bugger to buy for

Watchthesunrise · 23/10/2022 20:47

VR headset for Xbox?

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 23/10/2022 20:48

Mine is 10 but last year it was all about lego and Warhammer. To be honest this year is pretty much the same! Plus he now wants a sonos speaker (siblings got them at 10 in bedrooms and link with the house system). For his 9th birthday and still in use now he got some decent art pens plus Draw with Rob books. And ferro fluid, which is so much fun to play with a hypnotic.

Quizzed · 23/10/2022 20:48

I've got my ds the Manchester City away kit as he had the new home kit for his birthday, a book and bath bombs so far.
I shall be getting him:
Vbucks
Fifa 23
Lego
Funko pops
Football stuff
Don't get got
New scooter
Basketball hoop and ball

May I ask where you got the xbox skins? They sound like a great idea.

3ofus3 · 23/10/2022 21:01

Ebay!

PuttingDownRoots · 23/10/2022 21:09

My 9yo is a girl but she's getting....

Camping backpack
Warhammer board game (joint with sister)
Wetsuit
Boot bag (for her Rugby boots)
Books

PILs have got her and her 11yo sister a Paddleboard to share.

My parents have got her some Lego, illustrated Harry Potter Books and a Gryffindor blanket/hoodie.

Brogues · 23/10/2022 21:34

DS flicked through the Smyths catalogue earlier and declared Lego Minecraft Ender Dragon, Titanic (Lego type) model, and robo alive spider we’re going on his list. I’ve seen some Minecraft Nerf crossbow/bow and arrow that I think he’d like too.

Sidking · 27/10/2022 10:52

Things he's asked for:

  • Star wars assault walker with storm trooper
  • RC raptor
  • Pokémon trainer box
  • battle charizard
  • Godzilla figure
  • thanks glove

Things he has no idea about:

  • mini drone
  • 7 different fossils
  • Demogorgon plush
  • Loads of gold shiny Pokémon cards
  • Pokémon card wallet
  • next attack on titan book he needs
  • a wall shelf for his 'museum'
  • Godzilla hoodie

Our budget isn't massive, we're spending under £350 in total for both kids, but it's the fossils we're most excited to give him, he loves curating his museum shelf 😊

Sidking · 27/10/2022 10:52

That's supposed to say thanos glove!

Mummynextdoor · 27/10/2022 16:52

Where are the dumbbells from? I think my 10 year old would like these.

Skala123 · 27/10/2022 17:37

Dumbbells are such a good idea! My 9 year old DS is very into fitness.

Also another idea is a mini projector so he can link it to his iPad and play you tube shorts or Minecraft etc on a big screen in his room

WreckTangled · 27/10/2022 17:39

I was just going to look in decathlon.
