I’m thinking of getting ds one for Christmas. He likes a wide range of musical instruments and can play guitar to a fairly good standard.

can anyone recommend one that is not too expensive but not completely rubbish quality? TIA.

We went for an Octopus as a well reviewed budget brand, but admittedly for a child that sounds younger than your DS! This is a good site for reviews split by budget.

@Merrow thanks so much for your help. After reading the website you recommended I went with a plastic glow in the dark kala waterman. He can take it when he goes travelling next summer as it’s apparently very robust as well as fun. Perfect.
