Stocking for 2yo

Margo34 · 15/10/2022 12:34

I'm thinking a Freddo or chocolate buttons, some hairclips/hair bands, new socks, a book, an easy peeler orange, a new Lanka kade animal.

Another small stocking filler toy perhaps? Any ideas?

I've heard these can leave stains on the bath though, do they? We've just had a new bathroom fitted! 🙈

@Margo34 they didn't on ours. I tested a tiny patch first!

My DS will be 2 by Christmas. This is what he's got or will be getting for his stocking:

3 Schleich animals
Toothbrush
Mittens
Hand kite
Peter Rabbit enamel mug
Finger puppets
Threading toy
Rubber duck
Satsuma
Mini Haribo bag as he dislikes chocolate (hard to believe he's my child...)
Probably scatter a few Playmobil people in if there's room, it's a knitted stretchy stocking so can fit quite a bit in.

Book
yoto cards

Sounds good, I’d add some bubble bath.

Ds was 2 last Christmas (& DD’s the years previously). Last year had:
tube of milkybar buttons
small soft ball
orchard colouring/sticker book
chunky grip colouring pencils
paw patrol pencil to put them in
small hot wheels car
mini duplo fire car set
a crocodile soft toy sticking out the top. (he loves crocodiles).

Dd’s always had a sticker book, a piece of dressing up like a crown, wand. A tin of plasters for when they played doctors (still a hit now at 6 & 5). Favourite sweets. Their favourite character on bamboo cups. Mini game or craft set. Soft toy of their favourite animal.

bath crayons did mark our bath, it was new. A few months before they came out.

  • pouch not pounch (whatever that is lol)

I've heard these can leave stains on the bath though, do they? We've just had a new bathroom fitted! 🙈

In our old house they did but everything did as the bath had lost its enamal top coat (god knows how) and you could feel it was rough (like sitting on sand) and always stained from hair dye or anything coloured.

In our house and grandparents with a normal smooth bath its never been a problem.

Leakingroofagain · 15/10/2022 21:22

We did a water bottle with sharks on it, crayons, some little wind up toys, a whoopie cushion, satsuma, some little books

Motherofalegend · 15/10/2022 21:39

still got a slight outline of a dinosaur on my tiles from covid times…

Motherofalegend · 15/10/2022 21:39

That was in response to the bath crayons!

KitchenSupper · 15/10/2022 21:45

Aside from things similar to what you have already thought of I put:
Toothbrush
Toothpaste with cartoon characters we don’t usually have
Mini box of cereal from a variety pack
Pants
Minipack of tissues with Christmas pattern

Following for ideas. My list for two year old DD right now is:
Farm in a box
Chocolate buttons
Socks
Bath bomb
Hair clips
Small cuddly toy
Small musical instrument
Wind-up toy
Stickers
Purse

Worriedfords3 · 18/10/2022 18:47

Dp has banned bath crayons here due to the extensive scrubbing, and he allows glitter, so make of that what you will...

Anyone suggested actual bubbles, duplo or playmobil 123 polybag, Christmas jellycat, playdough, glow sticks yet? Cute rulers, puzzles, stationary? I got an enormous chocolate coin last year top for ds.

We got pull back ladybirds last year that were so used their spots rubbed off! I had to get replacements!

Worriedfords3 · 18/10/2022 18:48

Balloons...

Margo34 · 19/10/2022 22:56

We've got heaps of playdough (27 pots to be precise) but no playdough tools so you've definitely given me an idea there, thanks @Worriedfords3

@houseargh do you have a link for a farm in a tin so I can see what you mean? Purse is an excellent idea, we went out today and toddler said "phone, keys, purse, water!" as we left l, the only thing they don't have is a purse so I've stuck it on my list. Thank you!

Definitely finger puppets.

At that age, ds got anything with his favourite character, whether it was Pepa Pig, Pocoyo I don't remember, but water bottle, small flannel/face towel, gloves type thing.

Magnets for the fridge - numbers or letters.

Little book where you paint with water and colours show through, until it dries and becomes invisible again.
