What would you do for solo Xmas?

It’s my first year without the kids at Xmas. ( they’re off to visit ex-H’s parents in other country for a week)

now I’ve got used to the idea, I’m really looking forward to it!

I fancy taking myself away for a couple of days at least- maybe longer, but not sure what to do as I’ll be alone.

I’m thinking being in the countryside, or doing something outdoorsy.

also worried I might be lonely.

anyone know of any groups that cater for single parents without kids on Xmas day? Might be nice to meet up with people for lunch before going home and sitting in front of telly!

I would go to my favourite spa hotel, enjoy the spa, enjoy the alcoholic bubbles and walk on the beach.

All of the above. Start a list of what you want to do and work through a different one each year you're solo.

I think if it were me I'd over compensate the first year and plan every single second. An abundance of movies etc incase I called to pieces etc. I don't think I'd go abroad incase I wanted to be home. But then I've not been through it. So I don't have actual bonafide advice.

I think I'd go to a luxury country house hotel and go for long walks and treat myself to afternoon tea afterwards!

I’m not sure I’d manage to be alone at Christmas, but if I was and I had the money I’d go to New York... I’ve always wanted to go and I think being there at Christmas would be ultra cool.

I went to Cape Town! It was fab - I would love to be able to afford trips every 2 years when they are away but nevermind, a girl can dream.

I did a xmas alone once and volunteered at crisis and age charities during the day. Then takeaway and films and wine all evening. To date one of my best Xmas-Ed ever.

Could you volunteer on xmas day?

I really enjoy my own company so for me I would have wine, watch cheesy xmas films and eat my body weight in cheese and chocolate (and that would be alot of cheese and chocolate 😆), probably take a nap.

I'd get up early and stay up late to maximise the time alone..
