Does anyone recall any good Yoto deals on amazon/yoto themselves last year?

Im debating whether to buy now or wait, I have bday on 27th Dec to cover as well & we are out of the country for 3 weeks in Nov so trying to plan ahead!

I was going to ask the same question.... 😀

BeanyBops · 03/10/2022 14:45

Same, would be great to know!

Shameless placemarkingGrin

So we have scrapped the idea of getting a yoto (£80)this year.... Amazon have reduced their kids Echo to £25 including 1 year Amazon Kids + subscription (usually £45+ a ýear on its own). So access to Audible. Will act as an alarm clock. Help us with weather (independent getting ready to go out). Thought I would share here incase its of help to anyone else.

I have a Yoto referral code for 10% off if anyone wants it?

We love our Yoto so much we got another for DC2, they are worth the money IMO. Lots of free content and with Make Your Own cards it's possible to add more free/cheap content.

psuedocream3 · 06/10/2022 08:22

I don't think there were any great offers if I remember correctly I think it was just a free pack of cards which is the current offer, which works with the referal codes, check the referal board - all of our referals re on there.

KBLondon · 09/10/2022 15:31

I think they had some discounted cards but I don't remember if they had a discount on the players. The referral discount is probably the best option for buying the player.

They are definitely a worthwhile purchase though! We bought the original for our (now) 5 year old for her 4th birthday and she has used it every single day since.

And I’ve just caved and bought a mini so my youngest can have one too (we passed the original to the youngest and our older child has the mini). We’re pretty thoroughly converted to the whole Yoto concept! 😂

I wondered what the sound quality would be like on the mini vs the original but I’m pleased to report that the sound is great on both.

A Yoto in each bedroom has transformed bedtime. You can set them up so that the volume turns off at a specified time so we stick a card in every time at bedtime (and the original has a nightlight too).

Happy to share my referral discount of 10% off your first purchase of £59.99 or more 😊

What is it?
. Just went on their site and am non the wiser.

KBLondon · 09/10/2022 15:38

It is an audio book player for kids that they can use themselves. The audiobooks come on cards that they just pop into a little slot on the player.

They've also got a kids radio station and daily podcast they can get to by pressing one if the two orange buttons on the player.

Our kids use them at bedtime but also when they're playing during the day.

LillyBugg · 10/10/2022 20:52

Last year it was just discounted cards rather than players.

We have two in the house, used every day by DS8 and DS5. They love them. Worth every penny.

Eliserowland · 14/10/2022 22:58

Hi I’m interested to know whether you’d recommend the larger or mini? Thanks

How old is the child? Do you plan to use it for travel or just at home?

As a general rule, original for younger children and at home, and mini for older children and travel.

We have originals but I've bought a mini for Christmas so we'll have it for trips next year.

Equiphant · 15/10/2022 07:24

Can i ask - do the stories restart from where you stopped, or go back to the beginning if you listen to something else in between?

we have a toniebox for my youngest and my pet peeve is that if she puts on story A then Story b for 5 seconds, then story A again, story A will go back to the beginning and there’s no way to fast forward. Given the average attention span of a 3 yr old, there are several she’s never heard the end of as a result.

NameChange30 · 15/10/2022 08:50

They restart from where you stopped.
It's also easy to navigate; you just twist the knob to go through the tracks and press it when you reach the one you want.
It's much better than the Tonie box from that pov.

Planning on buying 2 mini players this year for DS1 & DS2 so hoping they go on offer for Black Friday but not holding my breath. Good to know people have found them to be worth the money!

Eliserowland · 15/10/2022 09:51

Thank you, my little girl will be turning 3. Perhaps original is best as we can enjoy the lights. Assume the original is also okay in the car etc

LayTheTableMabel · 15/10/2022 10:33

@Eliserowland I was told the original only holds a couple of hours charge, easy for kids to charge as it sits on the charger. The mini holds a few hours charge 10+ but is harder for tiny hands to charge because it is a lead you plug into it iykwim, so parents need to help with that potentially. That is the key difference with travelling. (Just what I heard from friends tho as don't have one)

KBLondon · 19/10/2022 17:13

We have an original and a mini and love them both. If buying for someone 4+ I'd probably go for the mini just for longevity.

I don't think they had any discounts on players last Black Friday (just on cards) but maybe they will this year.
