Help - my 3yo has everything!

So he’s going to sound incredibly spoilt but my 3yo has so many toys from his sister and cousins and I can’t think of what to get him.

he mainly plays with magnatiles, an old picnic set and his already large collection of soft toys. Has a balance bike and scooter - neither of which he is interested in. Have a shared play kitchen, easel, duplo and sylvanians which get some use. Doesn’t seem interested in cars or trains, no attention for crafts. Main likes are numberblocks and hurling himself off the sofa.

any help much appreciated. thanks!!

A hit gift here was a mini apron, montessori knives, kids recipe book, poundland mixing bowl and wooden spoon, plus a packet of cake mix. He cooks something at least once a week and loved getting his own cooking kit. He also uses it for pretend play with his toy food.

So we have (and he loves) the leapfrog ice cream truck from his sister . Some kind of teepee or tent is a great idea.

I think he’d also love a yoto although it is an expensive item for a 3 year old and the 6 yo will get jealous but that’s not a to not to get it!

When my eldest was three he loved,

Playdough sets,

Craft bits,

Slide for garden,

Duplo bricks,.

Night light for bedroom,

Role play bits, I got a big box and added old beads from the local charity shops, old hats, scalves, sun glasses, and handbags, old mobile phone, some cheap wigs, and this went down well, you could also add any other role play costumes they might be familiar with, eg pirates etc. Then I just added to it at birthdays etc.

Musical toys,

Role play shop, with till and money, cafe etc.

It’s quite embarrassing how many of these suggestions we already own . We never buy them toys ourselves outside of birthdays and Christmas- not sure how they’ve accrued quite so much stuff

the cardboard castle is cool. I think he’d like the rocket version

New bedding set.
Hooded towel.
Puzzle
Book
Interactive toy
Yukele - perfect size as a kids guitar. Our stagg one is still going strong after 5 years!
Game for gaming device
Amazon fire tablet - highly recommend
Wireless recharable Touch lamp for bedroom
Magnifying glass and plastic bugs

Invest in a play set for garden with slide and swing?
Or trampoline
Or even bouncy castle

Could there be a build a bear experience.
what about a zoo or animal experience.
one of those cement moulds for his hands and feet.
start cooking now! This was the age ours really got into being little bakers.
blanket with hood and arm wholes.
dressing up set.
his face on a cushion or pillow.

My 3 year old recently got one of those tractors with a drill so you can take it apart and put it back together. He's played with it for hours

It’s hard for second and subsequent children when they basically have access to everything from the eldest. Is there anything that he likes that his sister didn’t? My 3yo loves dinosaurs and my eldest didn’t care at all so will get something Dino-related. I’ve also found replacing bath toys has worked well as they get manky. Otherwise disposable craft things are your friend or maybe some new bedding/accessorises like a rucksack.

One of my friends gave me some advice that sometimes they just want the thrill of getting something fun for themselves rather than getting practical stuff as the first already got so much. So you might have a ton of playdoh already but the younger one will still enjoy getting their own set (which the older one will suddenly want because it’s not theirs…).
