Me and my sisters + SIL have stopped buying presents for each other and just buy for the kids (there’s 6 of them) this year we thought about doing something similar to a secret Santa or putting a limit on how much we spend on each child. Does anyone else do this? Otherwise some spend way more than others and the kids don’t actually need anything but feel it’s nice for them to have something to open. Other option is to just do money for the bank accounts instead.

What about a family day out or activity together instead?

Yes we do this and have done for years. My siblings and I have 9 children between us and we just buy a £5-6 gift for each child. It used to be fairly easy when they were younger as I used to get sticker books, art and craft supplies, small figures or cars etc, but there's 6 teens/tweens joe and the budget doesn't stretch very far for their tastes! I was wondering whether suggest more of a secret Santa thing this year but can't quite get my head around how it would work!

A day out or family activity is a good idea!

and the lower budget could work as they are still quite young. So hard as I do think it’s nice for them to have something to open but I’m starting to think it’s just a waste of money as they all have the toys they want/need.
