Dd is 6 years old, and loves Bluey, bottle flipping and craft stuff. Shes got a Yoto player that we want to get her some new cards for. She’s very active and loves to be outside where possible. She’s not a girly girl, much to the in laws disappointment, so isn’t keen on dolls etc. She’s in total awe of the England Women’s football team and loves her orange kit, however we don’t have garden space for things like goal posts.

Our original plan of buying her a new bike for her main present probably isn’t going to be doable. So, we were tempted to try and put off the bike until her birthday in April, giving us time to put away what we can towards a better one, and get her a nice new scooter for Christmas instead

I really need to cut down on amount spent, so ideally want to go for quality over quantity, and was just wondering if anyone has any ideas please? Thanks in advance xx

Den kit. My outdoorsy DD loves hers.

This is really popular with my dc and his friends of a similar age to your dd.
My eldest daughter is very active and likes her pogo stick and roller blades.
For crafts, perhaps Hama beads, Aquarellum and sticker by numbers.

oh my, that hover football looks amazing 🙊

I saw on another thread a suggestion of Posca pens and a black paper sketch book, so I'm tempted with that

she'd adore the den building kit idea too 🤩

Any experiences you can get to do after Xmas? My dd7 is an animal lover and I'm looking at maybe junior zookeeper for a day experience.

Dgd (6) got a den building kit for her birthday, along with some Binoculars and book on birds with real bird songs, a massive hit. As has been a been bag and lights for her room. Looking at getting a microscope or telescope for her 7th.

I've a very arty 6yo and we just got her the big roll of paper and the cutter from IKEA and it's a hit. She also has the IKEA carry case too and uses it all the time. We have an 'art station' set up for her with the above and loads of storage for different materials - the Learning Resources round caddy is great, it holds loads and the pieces can be taken out separately - it's the only thing that has helped keep her organised (amzn.eu/d/6qRfTwX)

The posca markers with black paper is a great idea, will be stealing that!

Oh and for den kits Aldi have a dupe of the den kit company one in the sale a few weeks ago in store. Came in a storage bag with mallet, ground pegs, seek and find cards etc.

she does love animals too, so an animal experience is a good idea

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions so far, I really appreciate them xx
