No Christmas lights

A friend told me today she's read that some councils won't be putting up Christmas lights this year due to the cost of energy. Completely understand but will be a bit sad to not have the lovely twinkly lights.

Made me wonder how many homes will do the same.

Christmas lights aren’t just about sparkling.

There is a deep societal need, and a reason that so much if the Northern Hemisphere has festivals of light during midwinter.

I know many of us just see Christmas as a consumer or religious celebration, but I believe our need for such things runs much deeper.

We will be having our usual lights, mostly LED and doing our utmost to share some much needed mid winter light.
